This has quickly become a part of my makeup routine, and I think everyone should try this! March 6, , Soft Ochre, Painterly more I cannot do my makeup without one of these to set as a base for my eyeshadow. They keep shadow in place while giving it a good foundation to work off of. The texture is creamy and soft.
It speeds easily with just my fingertip. I notice extended wear with my shadow when I use this. On multiple occasions for just quick errands, I have used these colors alone, with no shadow to make my eyes look less dark and sunken. I love the fact that they have so many choices to work with whatever color palette or eyeshadow you plan to use. Its like they amplify the color and make it better, since they match or help amp up the colors you are going to use. I have ditched all other eyeshadow primers and potions and ONLY use these. Just a little bit goes a very long way. The price tag is right for the amount of use you get out of one pot.

Please give these a shot if you haven't. Beauty Junkie Expert Level 5. April 9, , 7: This is one of my Holy grail products, I always use this every time I do my makeup! If you have really oily skin you can also apply it as a base before foundation in areas that usually rub off like the nose or other areas! Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4. May 6, , 1: I love these paint pots especially the soft ochre. They are the best eyeshadow primers!

I really like soft ochre because it covers up any veins in my eyelids so they're nice and even before I apply my eyeshadow. I need to get a new one but I've had mine for a long time and it's actually starting to dry out a bit I've been meaning to look up hacks on how to fix a dried paint pot so if anyone has any ideas let me know. Thank you! Try it you'll definitely like it it's a V without a doubt! Have used these babies as my eye primer for years and love them! They set almost quickly and can be worn alone or under eye makeup but as a base, these are awesome! I use a brush to apply and blend them out but fingers work well too.
I use these every day for my eye makeup however, I do not reach for them when I have a super long day or event in the evening as I find that by 4 or 5pm, my lids start to crease. By then I don't care since it's almost time for my day to end but for a special occasion I reach for UD Primer Potion.
Still, I will always repurchase these as I believe the Paint Pots to be a staple in my makeup collection and a favorite always!

Layin' Low more I never thought I would use a eyelid primer BUT of course watching Youtube, I quickly found that the paint pot seemed extremely helpful in the longer wearing and making eyeshadows more vivid. I got Layin' Low because I have a medium skin tone and wanted to be able to wear it as a plain eyeshadow too. I have had this for a couple months and have not even made a dent in it. I like it a lot and out of all of my primers it seems to be at the very top.
Definitely a good purchase and requires very little to work with so it should last you for quite some time. Hey girls, What do you prefer, creamly or powder eyeshadow?? Does this crease at all? Mely C. Los Angeles.
Just make sure to prime your eye with a white base and apply the eyeshadow and so it wont crease apply finishing spray. What shades do you wear? Lauren M. Old Bridge, NJ. I use Soft Ochre everyday as a base before eyeshadow! Do you prefer this alone or do you use it as a primer? Mariana M.

Soft ochre!!!! Must-Have Makeup: This post contains affiliate links, for more information click here. I echo everything you said here! I love my paint pots and have Soft Ochre and Bare Study, currently. In the past, I had Painterly definitely had this baby for at least 2 yrs lol , but like Soft Ochre better. I also had Rubenesque but now I think I need Indianwood. That bronze tone screams my name! YAY, for paint pot love!
I feel like no one mentions them anymore or MAC in general. Indianwood is SOOO pretty!! I wear it all over the lids, with a matte crease shade. It would look great on you! I feel the same! But then I read these reports that still say MAC is crazy popular on blogs!? But, now I live no where near a stand alone store which I prefer to trade in at versus a counter. Honestly, their back to back to back LE collections overwhelmed so many, I think they lost a lot of their followers because of that. Scandal, I know! I love the look of Rubenesque.
I think that shade would be lovely for the upcoming warmer months for an all over the lid fresh look. I will have to swatch it on my next pop into MAC! Thanks for the great review, Julie!
Hey, Amanda! Long time no see, so happy you popped in for this post! Very pretty for summer! Thank you thank you for doing this post! I bought my first paint pot last year and they are sooooooo much better than Color Tattoos. Now I know. The formula of Paint Pots is definitely a lot creamer than Color Tattoos. I adore my Maybelline ones, mostly for the opacity, but they are dry dry dry!!! I have about 3 in my collection that I need to pull out.
I love seeing your swatches.
